VENEZUELA NEEDS

YOUR HELP

Since June 24th, communities across Venezuela have been living through a humanitarian emergency following a series of earthquakes that have become one of the worst disasters due to natural hazards the country has seen in a century.

The current toll stands at more than 1,719 people killed, injured, and hundreds still missing — and those numbers continue to climb as search and rescue operations press on.

From the earliest hours of the emergency, YMCA teams in Caracas and Valencia have been working alongside local communities, providing support where it is needed most.

More than 1,719 people have lost their lives, and thousands of families are now facing the loss of their homes, their water, and their power in the wake of the earthquakes in Venezuela.

Your contribution can help provide aid and protection to the communities hit the hardest.

Please note that donations are processed in U.S. dollars (USD). The Latin American and Caribbean Alliance of YMCAs is not able to issue tax-deductible receipts for this contributions.

How We’re Responding to the Emergency

YMCAs across Venezuela are mobilizing an immediate response to address the most urgent needs, as well as the medium- and long-term needs, and stand alongside their communities.

Our locations in Caracas and Valencia are coordinating efforts to reach the hardest-hit areas.

Our priorities right now:
  • Helping clear debris and support people affected by the disaster.
  • Opening our facilities as safe spaces and temporary shelters for people who need a place to turn.
  • Running collection and distribution centers in Caracas and Valencia, collecting food, water, clothing, medicine, and hygiene supplies.
  • Equipping rescuers in the field with masks, gloves, and personal hygiene supplies.
  • Establish “YMCA Safe Meeting Zones” to provide socio-emotional support, physical rehabilitation, and nutritional assistance to the community.

Note: A local needs assessment is currently underway in the affected communities to identify and prioritize the most urgent needs. This information will help guide and adjust the response.

How You Can Help

Your support brings comfort and essential aid to the communities in Venezuela facing this tragedy.

When you give today, you’re directly aiding the on-the-ground response and the long-term recovery led by Venezuela’s own YMCAs. We believe recovery is possible. And we know it starts with showing up, listening, and taking real action.

“Grounded in our faith and guided by a call to solidarity, we stand with Venezuela in this moment of pain. Our local YMCAs are spaces of hope and transformation — and with your support, they will remain so. Together, we are building a region that is more just, equitable, inclusive, and sustainable.”
