The Labor Empowerment project allowed us to work with young women facing real barriers to employment and education. We provided concrete tools—how to write a resume, prepare for interviews, develop personal skills—but we were also there for something equally important: to listen to them.
That space of trust and support was the most valuable. Sharing their stories, fears, and achievements allowed us to see realities very different from our own and understand the difficulties many face daily. But they also inspired us. They showed us what it means to fight for a better future despite everything, and how powerful it can be to feel accompanied on that journey.
This experience changed us. Beyond what we could offer them, they taught us so much. They helped us appreciate things we previously took for granted and reaffirmed our desire to continue participating in projects that generate real impact.
Today, more than volunteers, we feel part of a mutual support network. We carry with us the learning, the humanity, and the certainty that being present, listening, and accompanying also transforms.
